At Cakes by Lyza, we take great care to ensure every order is freshly baked, carefully packaged, and ready for safe delivery or collection. However, once your order has been dispatched or collected, we are not responsible for any delays, damages, or issues that occur in transit or after pickup.
Delivery times are estimated and may vary due to traffic, weather, or circumstances beyond our control. While we always aim to meet agreed delivery slots, exact times cannot be guaranteed.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information and ensuring someone is available to receive the order at the agreed time. If delivery cannot be completed because of incorrect details or no one being present, a redelivery fee may apply.
Shipping Policy - the basics
1. Delivery Areas
We currently offer local delivery within London and surrounding areas. Delivery fees are based on distance and will be confirmed when placing your order.
If your area falls outside our delivery zone, please contact us before placing an order — we may be able to arrange a special delivery or courier option at an additional charge.
2. Delivery Times
Deliveries are typically made within agreed time slots on your selected date.
We recommend placing orders at least 5–7 days in advance to secure your preferred delivery date.
During busy periods (e.g., holidays, weekends, or seasonal events), delivery times may vary.
If you have specific timing requirements, please mention them when ordering — we will do our best to accommodate.
3. Collection
Customers may choose to collect their orders from our designated pickup point in Cricklewood, North West London.
Please arrive at your scheduled collection time to ensure freshness and to avoid waiting periods. We kindly ask that collected cakes be transported with care and stored according to our handling instructions.
4. Handling & Storage
Once the cake has been collected or delivered, Cakes by Lyza cannot accept responsibility for any damage caused by improper handling, transportation, or storage.
We recommend:
Keeping cakes cool and out of direct sunlight during transport.
Refrigerating your cake if not served immediately.
Bringing cakes back to room temperature before serving for the best flavour and texture.
5. Missed Deliveries
If no one is available to receive the order at the delivery address, our driver may attempt to contact you. If delivery cannot be completed, your order may:
Be left in a safe location (at your own risk), or
Be returned to us for collection at a later time (a redelivery fee may apply).
6. Delivery Confirmation
Once your order has been delivered or collected, the sale is considered complete. Please inspect your order promptly and notify us within 24 hours if you notice any issues.
We will review each case individually and, where appropriate, offer a replacement or partial refund in line with our Refund Policy.
